Some love stories begin with a first date. Some begin with a swipe.
And some begin with two people simply being there for each other when life is difficult.
For Terry and Hannah; their story started while they were both working for a private ambulance service, during a time when Hannah was going through an incredibly difficult period in her life. A short while later, Terry decided to leave the service and unbeknown to him, leaving behind a broken-hearted Hannah. Their friendship had blossomed during their time working together, and when Hannah needed a safe space, that’s exactly what Terry provided.
Terry remained a constant in Hannah’s life, as a friend, a confidant and someone she could trust when she felt like she had nobody and nowhere to turn. When Hannah had to flee a toxic situation, Terry was there with an open door. Hannah later found out that not only had Terry opened his home to her, to provide her with the safety she needed, he also ensured that everything she needed, was there. Terry had gone and purchased everything brand new, from curtains, bedding, towels; the lot. it wasn’t until a long time after, that Hannah found out just how much effort he went to right from the start.
It was perhaps one of the earliest signs of the man she would eventually spend the rest of her life with.
Things naturally progressed from there and friendship turned into love, actually. The kind where you never question just how much the other person loves you. The kind that makes you feel like you’ve arrived home. Terry loves to tell people that It was Hannah that made the first move, when she realised that the man that she was meant to be with, was right under her nose. Terry could never quite believe that ‘someone like her would choose someone like him’ his words. But she did, she chose him and he chose her.
And very quickly, their lives changed forever, their love that grew into a family, they found out they were having a baby! Sadly they lost their baby due to a miscarriage and whilst the loss was devastating for the couple, it was something that only strengthened their foundations.
A little while later, as they were going through fertility investigations, a miracle happened, in the form of the beautiful little Maddison.
Neither of them could quite believe it. It was a long 9 months, filled with worry and anxiety of losing yet another baby, but together they made it through and in December 2023, Maddison arrived.
Halfway through Hannah’s pregnancy, Terry proposed, although it didn’t quite go to plan and whilst Hannah said Yes, naturally, Terry felt like Hannah deserved the best proposal he could give her. So to celebrate Hannah & Maddison’s birthdays, he swept them off to Prague to celebrate in style. Not only had Terry planned the birthday trip, he also planned a 2nd proposal, and for the 2nd time, Hannah said yes.
August 9th 2025 – The day Terry and Hannah finally said, I do.
They married at Cooling Castle Barns in the beautiful Kent countryside, surrounded by the people they loved most, they celebrated everything that had brought them to that moment — the difficult chapters, the heartbreak, the laughter, Maddison, the proposals and the years of choosing each other.
It was, in Hannah’s words ‘the most amazing day’
One year on...
A year of marriage has brought plenty of highs and lows and some huge moments — the kind that only come around once in a lifetime. But through all of them, one thing hasn't changed. - Hannah can’t imagine doing this wild ride of life with anyone else.
During the speeches, Terry’s best man, revealed that when Terry first saw Hannah, he turned to him and said ‘Cor’ I’d marry that girl I would’ and he proved him right.
From friends, to partners, to parents, to fiancés — twice — and finally to husband and wife.
