And just like that; they were married.

If you're thinking of getting married at Chelsea Town Hall, stop thinking and book it. Not only is it one of the most beautiful venues, it's also hosted many a celebrity wedding, one being of note, the one, the only Kim Cattrall.

The Chelsea Town Hall we all know and love today first opened it's doors in 1978, prior to this Chelsea Register Office was located at 244 -250 Old Kings Road, just a stones throw away from the current town hall, and in that building, weddings took place between the most iconic couple; Judy Garland and Mickey Deans. Judy and Micky married on the 15th March 1969. Judy wore a simple but elegant blue chiffon minidress with elaborate feather detailing around the sleeves and neckline.

After the register office moved to its current location, celebrities continued to choose Chelsea Town Hall to be their venue of choice including Pierce Brosnan, Hugh Grant and even Sir Bobby Moore and my personal favourite, Kim Cattrall.

Even 48 years since the doors to Chelsea Old Town Hall first opened it's doors, celebrities continue to chose Chelsea to host their special day; and I can totally see why.

Inside the building, the beautiful staircase in the waiting area is perfect for those classic “just married” walking-out shots. There’s also a gorgeous floral wall, providing another lovely backdrop for photographs and selfies.

But perhaps the most famous and iconic feature of Chelsea Town Hall is the magnificent steps outside. The building is now complemented by a stunning seasonal floral arch, created by the very talented Fleur de la Couture. The changing floral displays beautifully frame the historic architecture, creating an effortlessly romantic backdrop and plenty of opportunities for photographers — and, of course, those all-important wedding-day selfies!

I personally am in love with a Chelsea wedding. Of all the venues I've ever shot at, Chelsea remains stapled in my heart and I feel a child like excitement with every wedding it shoot there. I think that not only is the building absolutely beautiful, the edginess of the city and the surrounding area provides a wealth of photography oppportunies including Chelsea Fire Station and even the Saatchi Gallery. At Christmas, the Kings Road is adorned with elaborate decorations, with the Saatchi Gallery being a focal point of the city road.
